IFOCA (International Forum on Climate Adaptation)

The IERI hosts the International Forum on Climate Adaptation, which was a total reorganization of the UNU_GIST Sustainable Science and Technology joint program symposium (formerly known as the Environment and Sustainable Development Workshop) since 2003.

Background of the Forum
  • Need for climate change alleviation and adaption strategies
  • Aids of climate technologies from developed countries to developing and under-developed countries
  • Climate technology aid should be executed after considering each beneficiary country's conditions, such as environment, climate, economy, and government policies
  • Practical climate change data of each beneficiary country, which is used by both aid and beneficiary countries, is almost non-existent
Forum Process
  • Presentation of the problems faced by each country and the progress of each country
  • Discussions to enable stakeholders in each country to comment on policy measures to be implemented to adapt to climate change.
  • Analyze and summarize the results and publish the report
Climate Adaptation Report
  • The report encompasses the latest information on practical climate technologies of each Southeast Asian country.
